Bay State Trail Riders Association, Inc. (BSTRA), is the largest equine trails advocacy group in New England. As we continue our mission to keep trails open for equestrian use, we foster communication, cooperation, and goodwill between various trail users, land managers and owners. We serve as a self-disciplined entity setting an example of responsible trail stewardship by scheduling regular workdays to clear, rebuild and maintain healthy recreational trail networks serving communities across Massachusetts. Working as a liaison between trail user groups, landowners and governmental agencies, BSTRA assists in the preparation of studies, surveys, trail use plans and open space recommendations, as well as participates in the implementation of some of those trail plans. We advocate the development of a region wide system of multipurpose trials and facilitate the teaching of proper trail etiquette to all trail users.
