The Bay Area Food Bank began in 1981 and currently serves over 550 feeding programs across 24 counties along the Central Gulf Coast. Since its founding, the Food Bank has distributed over 100 million pounds of food, which translates to over 7.5 million meals. There are over 260,000 people living in poverty in the Bay Area Food Bank's service area. We here at the Food Bank work hard, along with our dedicated volunteers and member agencies to serve the people who need us! Not only are we a Food Bank, but we have child nutrition and senior nutrition programs as well! In times of disaster relief, the Food Bank is well prepared to deliver millions of meals to people in our service area.
