Description
The Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre, under the artistic direction of Molly Buchmann and Sharon Mathews, is a non-profit organization established in 1960 to promote the development and advancement of ballet by maintaining a first rate dance company in the Baton Rouge area. Today that focus includes the surrounding parishes & areas and provides education in classical ballet and arts-in-education outreach programs. BRBT presents a dance season that includes 2 productions by our local company with professional guest performers and at least 1performance by a major dance company. Each year, the company's production of The Nutcracker: A Tale from the Bayou, draws sell-out audiences with its Louisiana theme.
