BaRNI was originally formed to assist special needs and senior basset hounds, which would tax other area basset rescue groups. By networking with all active basset rescue groups, BaRNI would focus on the expansion project at Daphneyland, and gear up for the dream of a senior center.
As the need for additional basset rescue services became extremely active, BaRNI began and opened its doors on December 21, 2005 when 26 puppies and their parents suddenly were required to be taken in, rehabilitated and cared for in one day. The flow of hounds requiring assistance from BaRNI has not slowed, and BaRNI is now an active rescue organization in the Southern California area, operating in conjunction with Daphneyland, Inc., the basset rescue & boarding ranch.
Daphneyland is open to the public for adoptions on Saturdays & Sunday's from 11 - 4 (Weekdays by Appointment.) Basset hound education, youth volunteer programs, adoption and bellyrubbing opportunities abound.
