Description
The Bardavon 1869 Opera House, Inc. is a nonprofit, member-based organization. As the leading performance venue of the Hudson Valley, we present diverse touring artists of the highest quality. Since 1999 the Bardavon has managed and presented the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, the region's premiere orchestra. Over the last seven years, the Bardavon has facilitated collaborations with artists, businesses and government creating outdoor seasonal festivals. These events, coupled with the Bardavon’s on stage season, draw upwards of 100,000 to Poughkeepsie annually, spurring economic revitalization and community solidarity. The Bardavon is a National Register of Historic Places property and is the oldest continuously operating theater in the state.
