Ballet Folklorico Quetzalcoatl is a nationally recognized Mexican folk dance troupe. Under the direction of Juan Manuel "Nery" Cruz, Ballet Folklorico Quetzalcoatl has delighted audiences for the last 27 years in illinois and surrounding states and as far as Mexico. The dance troupe is made up of approximately 30 dancers ranging from 5 to 40 years of age.
The troupe performs dances from different Mexican regions; some of the most popular dances are from the states of Jalisco, Nayarit, Nuevo Leon, and Veracruz. Each costume, dance move, and musical note expresses a story from the Mexican culture we know today.
Throughout the year Ballet Folklorico Quetzalcoatl performs at different local and out of state events. Towards the end of the year Ballet Folklorico Quetzalcoatl culminates a successful season by putting on a great show at the Paramount Arts Centre in Aurora, IL.
