Description
Backpack Club is a charity that provides backpacks full of food to needy schoolchildren in the Gainesville, FL community. Many of these children will eat breakfast and lunch at school, but then go without eating at home and eat only a meal or two over the weekend. Many of them are homeless. The food provided gives the children and their families an opportunity to feed themselves when they otherwise could not. We currently fill approximately 100 backpacks a month for children at A.Q. Jones and Littlewood Elementary schools. The kids light up whenever I come by at the end of the month with filled backpacks for them. Please help us to continue this project.
