Description
BCHA’s purpose is to working with land management agencies to insure the continued use of horses and mules on public land. BCHA’s founders felt that Back Country Horsemen should be a different type of organization, not the usual special interest group, normally operating in protest. It was felt that a service organization, doing work in the back country, would lend credibility to the group. In 2008, BCHA volunteers donated over $6M in time to protect public riding areas.
