Description
AVAIL, Inc. stands for Advocates for Victims of Abuse In Langlade County. It is a domestic and sexual assault victim services center & shelter that has been in operation since 1981. It is a 501 ( c) (3) non-profit organization providing specialized victim services to men and women, children and seniors experiencing domestic or sexual violence. AVAIL also provides community education to prevent youth sexual assault. We have been recognized statewide and nationally for our work in this field.
Beyond providing a secure shelter when needed, AVAIL provides legal, medical, and financial advocacy. We provide practical needs to our clients such as food, furnishings, clothing, assistance with finding new jobs, housing, and schools when starting over. AVAIL provides 24 hour crisis line and on-call staff to assist victims, as well as support groups. Our mission is to work with clients to empower them in making their own decisions using available resources.
