The Associated Blind, Inc. is a privately funded, 501(c)(3) non-profit agency, located in New York City, that was founded in 1938 by a group of blind individuals as an organization promoting autonomy and self-determination.
The Associated Blind’s mission is to assist individuals who are blind, visually impaired or who have physical disabilities to become self-reliant and achieve financial independence through mainstream employment.
The Associated Blind carries out its mission to impart job development and career management skills to members of the disability community through its online service, eSight Careers Network – www.eSight.org - which was developed in response to expressed needs, interests and suggestions of people with disabilities.
