Description

ASSETS Montco (A Service for Self-Employment Training and Support) provides much-needed microenterprise training for low to moderate-income persons in under-served communities in Montgomery County and the surrounding counties.

Our program serves low to moderate-income men and womem by providing training, mentoring, and technical support for those who want to begin or expand their own small businesses. Courses, taught by business leaders and professionals, cover the fundamentals of starting a small business: focusing the business idea, research and marketing, promotion, basic accounting, cash flow, taxes, business name and other legal issues, leasing, computer skills, loans and networking. Graduates complete a business plan workbook and class attendance requirements, and can receive mentoring and ongoing technical support from the ASSETS program.
