Description
ArtWorks for Milwaukee, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that creates paid apprenticeships in arts-based programs for Milwaukee at-risk high school students, with and without disabilities. These apprenticeships are designed to teach youth apprentices critical employability skills they will need in order to find future employment success, as well as expose them to realistic workplace expectations, processes and procedures.
ArtWorks is unique to Milwaukee County because we “put the arts to work,” and use the arts as our method for teaching employability skills. Our programs bridge diverse populations, cultures and classes and develop collaborative relationships, offering apprentices, Lead Artists, participating organizations, and funders an opportunity to help develop Milwaukee's future workforce.
