Founded in 1985 by Gary and Mark Blackman, ArtsPower is recognized as one of North America's major producers of professional theatre for young and family audiences. ArtsPower has created and toured 26 compelling, values-rich musicals and dramas - drawn largely from classic and popular literature for young readers and important historical events - for an audience of more than 11 million young people and adults. We perform in America's most celebrated first-run theaters, cultural centers, regional theatres, university auditoriums, and schools throughout 46 states. We strive to create outstanding, spirited theatre that speaks intelligently to and resonates powerfully with young people and adults. Our work is intended to inform, entertain, and foster important pro-social values while "raising the bar" for quality theatre for young people.
