The Arthur J. Moore Methodist Museum has a United Methodist focus and contains artifacts gathered by Moore during his travels. The museum is also home to thousands of books, paintings and artifacts about John and Charles Wesley and their influence on the island. There is a substantial collection of nativities from around the world. All these are now on display as well as many recent acquisitions.
Most Thursdays, there is a lecture given by Rev. Dave Hanson, retired United Methodist Minister. This hour long talk details the harrowing experiences of the Wesleys on St. Simons Island. Call for more information.
The Museum also houses a research library, which is used by students, pastors and many others. Each year, thousands of youth from churches tour the Museum as part of their Confirmation Weekend. This is a treasure for all Christians.
