Description
The Armory Center for the Arts builds on the power of art to transform lives and communities through creating, teaching, and presenting the arts. The Armory presents contemporary exhibitions, performances and educational experiences in the City of Pasadena and greater Los Angeles area. All Armory classes are led by professional artists who bring an authentic and rich experience to their teaching. A key goal of the Armory’s mission is to provide art classes and art experiences in Pasadena’s lowest income neighborhoods in order to serve children and their families. Over 5,000 children and teens participate in the Armory’s free community art classes where they discover their creative voice, gain self-confidence, come to appreciate viewpoints different from their own, experience a renewed enthusiasm for learning, and discover a deeper connection to the world around them through the arts.
