Description

The Armenian EyeCare Project (AECP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention of blindness and making 21st century eye care accessible to adults and children in Armenia. Established in 1992, the AECP provides eye care throughout the country with a mobile eye hospital and clinics in Yerevan. Programs include eye screenings; surgical and non-surgical treatment; public education; patient education; medical training and education; research; and capacity building.

Emphasizing prevention and early intervention, the AECP Mobile Eye Hospital, a fully equipped, state-of-the-art teaching hospital, travels country-wide enabling bringing ophthalmic training to physicians throughout Armenia, and screening and delivering eye care to thousands of children and adults—saving or restoring the sight of many.
