Description
The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra has been serving the state of Arkansas by providing classical music concerts to the citizens of the state since 1944. Currently, ASO performs over 30 concerts annually at the Robinson Center Music Hall in Little Rock as well as 6 Chamber Music concerts at the Clinton Presidential Center and various other performances around the state.
Integral to ASO’s activities are its resident string quartets, the Quapaw Quartet and the two ASO Arts Partners quartets – the Sturgis and Rockefeller string quartets. The ASO Arts Partners, founded in 2000, perform statewide outreach programs serving over 19,000 kindergarten through sixth-grade students through various Demos, Informances (informational performances), Instrument Petting Zoos and Children’s Concerts. The four Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestras include more than 200 students from 34 Arkansas communities ranging from ages 7 to 18.
