Protect and Improve Our Landscape *Permanently preserve open space through acquiring land and development rights. *Support agriculture, preserve scenic open space, and protect water supplies. *Connect the landscape with trails. Partner With Our Community *Foster collaborative land conservation between government, business, community agencies, and individuals. *Respond to local needs while emphasizing regional land use planning. Promote Land Conservation *Founded in 1985, the Aquidneck Land Trust's mission is to preserve Aquidneck Island's natural character and open space for the lasting benefit of our community. It has protected 1972 acres to date. Communicate the urgent need for land conservation. *Provide information and guidance to landowners. *Advocate for sound municipal land planning and regulation.
