Founded in 1970, the APT Foundation (the Foundation) is a private, non-profit organization that provides treatment to individuals with substance use, mental health and co-ocurring disorders. It has an emphasis on traditionally underserved populations. Headquartered in New Haven, the Foundation offers treatment programs that address the full range of mental health, substance abuse including,opiates, cocaine, alcohol and marijuana. The Foundation is accredited by CARF, the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission and all clinical programs are licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health. The Foundation is the leader in the state in the development and implementation of evidenced-based treatments for substance abuse. There has been a 32 (+) year relationship with clinical investigators from the Yale School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry who continue to conduct studies into the causes and treatments of substance abuse.
