Description
This is a foundation to educate and raise the awareness of severe combined immune deficiency, aka; scid. It is in memory of Anthony James Mingione, whose young life was taken due to this rare but deadly disorder.
The foundation began in 2004 in the hopes of not only bringing attention to the deadly disease, but to also get congress to pass a bill, so that newborn testing for scid is instituted. Early detection of this disease is essential and can eliminate the number of deaths it has brought to these children.
