We work to meet the needs of abused, neglected and abandoned/homeless children, youth and families. Our program and services include the following:
? Crisis Care & Emergency Placement Services - provides a safe 24 hour environment for children birth to 18 years of age with intervention measures to immediately alleviate crisis by providing emergency, shelter, food, clothing, educational needs, conflict resolution and emergency medical attention. The Crisis Care & Emergency Placement Services is designed to reduce parental stress by offering children a safe and secure environment, transportation to and from school, as well as, other health, mental health and recreational activities. The parents receive knowledge and access to community resources along with a plan to effectively address future problems as they occur.
? Transitional Living Program – provides youth between the ages of 16 and 21 the necessary skills to successfully transition to independent, productive adults through a series of personal training and life skills development. The TLP offers exposure to community resources (Vital Records, Public Transportation, Health/Medical, etc.), money and home management skills, along with career and educational planning.
? Emerson Academy Therapeutic School – promotes successful learning behaviors and outcomes for students, grades K-12 with Individual Education Plans (IEP’s). Students that are successful with therapeutic programming will be able to return to their regular school environment and excel to the next academic level. With a smaller classroom size our Certified Special Education Teachers and Teacher Aides effectively assist students with addressing both their behavior and academic problems.
? Parenting Education Classes – provides a ten week instruction based environment to re-establish and promote healthy relationships between parents and children. The course is designed to help prevent child abuse, successfully raise and appropriately discipline children.
