Description
Project Save-A-Cat is a major project of the Animal Rights Alliance (ARA), which is a non-profit Fairfield County organization dedicated to promoting the protection and well-being of animals, both wild and domestic.
ARA’s Project Save-A-Cat was established in 1992 to improve the quality of life for homeless, injured and abused cats in Fairfield County. Its purposes are:
* Provide educational programs that promote responsible pet ownership and humane treatment of all animals and reduce pet overpopulation.
* Shelter cats in a healthy, safe environment and provide compatible and responsible adoptions.
* Provide community outreach programs improving the quality of life for cats and people.
* Spay/neuter/vaccinate as many outdoor cats as possible who have a feeding source, to stop indiscriminate breeding which causes most of the overpopulation problem.
