Founded in 1989, Animal Place is one of the largest and oldest sanctuaries and rescues for farm animals in the country.
Animal Place operates two facilities - a 600-acre permanent refuge in Grass Valley and a 60-acre one-of-a-kind farmed animal adoption center in Vacaville.
Animals are rescued from farms, slaughterhouses, research facilities and cruelty cases.
In addition to rescue and adoption, Animal Place educates the public about making more compassionate tours. This is done through tours, volunteer classes, internships and speaking engagements.
