Description
The Amputee Coalition is the nation’s leading organization on limb loss, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for amputees and their families, improving patient care and preventing limb loss. A major tenet of our organization is to ensure that no amputee goes through the limb loss recovery journey alone.
Since 1986, the Amputee Coalition has provided programs to inform, educate and offer suppotr--empowering each individual on his ore her journey to recovery, readjustment and regaining of life purpose and direction.
The Amputee Coalition provides a national peer visitor network, a national support group network, nationa and local education events for amputees, an annual amputee youth camp, an online resource center, and also conducts research, national scientific and medical collaborations, and outreach to ensure insurance coverage for amputee care needs.
