Description
America's Second Harvest of South Georgia, Inc. annually distributes more than 7 million pounds of food and grocery product through the Valdosta Food Bank to over 350 non-profit agencies such as assisted living facilities, soup kitchens, food pantries, battered women's shelters, and children's homes; saves more than 1.5 million pounds of product from being deposited in local landfills; serves hot, nutritious meals each night to more than 1,000 children under the age of 18 who are enrolled in after-school programs and up to 3 meals per day during the summer months and holidays, all at no charge; and delivers fresh, free produce to low-income communities and housing centers.
