Description
We begin The Amelia Appeal with a very personal financial appeal for Amelia and her family.
Our long-term mission as a non-profit organization is to provide support, both financial and informational, to families uniquely burdened by the care of a child with cancer.
Amelia was diagnosed with Medullablastoma in October 2006, at the age of 6 and underwent surgery and extensive, daily chemotherapy and radiation treatments. During the entire grinding ordeal, Amelia maintained her lovely disposition, never complained, and never lost her beautiful and ready smile. For the last year, it appeared that she'd beat the cancer, but suddenly and mystifyingly it came raging back. She is currently undergoing further, and more intensive treatment at Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York.
The Amelia Appeal is not only financial for Amelia and her family. It is also an appeal for blood and platelets which need to be donated at Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York.
