Description
The Ama Foundation endeavors to provide a home, family environment and education for the most underprivileged and destitute children of Nepal.
Our vision is to create a permanent, sustainable model of a children's home. Programs such as adult literacy classes, microloans and a library would provide a network of caring in the community as well as providing the children with a model of civic responsibility.
Our first home, Ama Ghar, has been in a rented home with 39 children. With the purchase of land in Kathmandu, we are poised to break ground in the spring of 2008 to build our vision.
