Alliance for Safety Awareness for Patients - ASAP

about

The Alliance for Safety Awareness for Patients (ASAP) was founded by Necrotizing Fasciitis Survivor Alicia Cole and her parents Betty and Ron Cole. Alicia acquired the near-fatal 'flesh-eating' infection following a routine procedure to remove uterine fibroids. The Cole family created ASAP to educate and protect patients through the awareness of hospital acquired infections like necrotizing fasciitis, MRSA, VRE, sepsis and others. The Alliance for Safety Awareness for Patients, working in conjunction with other established advocacy groups, healthcare providers and legislators strives to end the spread of preventable hospital acquired infections by empowering the public to make informed decisions and become proactive participants in their healthcare.
