Description

The Albany County Crime Victim and Sexual Violence Center provides a comprehensive range of services to injured crime victims in Albany County. CVSVC is available to anyone of any age who has experienced a sexual assault or other violent crime at any time in hisor her life, or who has been affected by someone else’s assault. Treatment is offered to groups, individuals and families. CVSVC operates a 24-hour crisis hotline for supportive counseling and facilitates access to the hospital and/or police station for victims of sexual violence. CVSVC offers public education programs on
interpersonal violence prevention for adults and children throughout the County.
CVSVC provides information, criminal justice, and Court advocacy and referral services to crime victims, and assists them in filing claims for compensation from the Crime Victims Board. Specialized services are offered to domestic violence victims and their children.
