The Air Zoo, a 501c3, public charity, aviation museum located in Kalamazoo, MI, was founded in 1977. The initial collection was comprised of 7 aircraft & limited artifacts. 1979 to 2003, the Air Zoo underwent several expansions, tripling square footage to house over 75 rare, historical aircraft & thousands of related artifacts. In 2004 we opened a new attraction unlike any other in the world. Itcombines the best of museum’s with the best of theme parks, introducing visitors to the history of flight in a way never before attempted. The Air Zoo has become a premier provider of education programs. In 2006 we welcomed over 10,000 students to our programs, 31% of which received free admission. We bring life to science, & science to life, for thousands of students, teachers & home school families who visit our facility to explore humanity’s quest to reach the skies. Our roster includes: 13 formal on & off site programs, 9 home school programs & 8 aviation summer camp programs.
