Description
The AIDS Memorial Quilt is the internationally famous world's largest piece of folk art, made up of thousands of panels made by individuals to remember a loved one lost to HIV/AIDS. The NAMES Project Foundation is the 501(c)3 NGO created to maintain, grow and display The AIDS Memorial Quilt.
The Mission of The NAMES Project Foundation is to preserve, care for, and use the AIDS Memorial Quilt to foster healing, heighten awareness, and inspire action in the struggle against HIV and AIDS.
The Goals of The AIDS Memorial Quilt are to provide a creative means for remembrance and healing, to effectively illustrate the enormity of the AIDS epidemic, to increase the general public's awareness of HIV and AIDS, to assist others with HIV infection-prevention education and to raise funds for community-based AIDS service organizations.
