The AIDS Institute is a national nonprofit and nonpartisan public policy research organization based in Washington, DC and Tampa, FL. The agency began as a grassroots community mobilization effort in the late 1980s in Florida. In 1992, this advocacy network became incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and expanded its mission and vision and is today a leading national AIDS organization. The AIDS Institute is focused on HIV/AIDS while incorporating work on related healthcare issues such as Hepatitis, TB and Malaria, as well as other infectious diseases. The agency’s mission is to promote action for social change through public policy research, advocacy, and education. The AIDS Institute has proven itself a leader in protecting the human rights of all persons by educating communities and advocating for sound domestic and global policies and funding.
