The following is a description of the Suburban Area Agency on Aging’s history and accomplishments.
CELEBRATING NEARLY 30 YEARS OF SERVICE TO SENIORS IN SUBURBAN COOK COUNTY

The Suburban Area Agency on Aging, incorporated in June of 1974 as a not-for-profit corporation, operates programs under the Older Americans Act and the Illinois Act on Aging. A 21 member Board of Directors governs the Area Agency with advice and direction from a 30 member Advisory Council. The agency employs 30 professional and support staff to carry out the mission of improving the quality of life and maintaining the dignity of older persons and those who care about them through leadership and support, community partnerships, comprehensive services, accurate information and powerful advocacy.
