Description
Agape House, also known as the Eastern Oregon Mission, is a combination food bank and basic services agancy for the poor in Umatilla County Oregon, an economically depressed area in NorthEastern Oregon. Agape House has an annual budget of approximately $230,000, but through in-kind donations, is able to distribute over $7,000,000 in goods and services each year. Begun in a home 20 years ago, Agape house is now a 503c nonprofit with a board made up of respected community leaders, and a 10,000 square foot warehouse, which it is able to share with two other charitable organizations. Agape House won the 2006 Mayor's Award for community service, and the assistant director won the 2006 Hermiston, OR Christmas Spirit Award. Agape House provides emergency clothing and necessities for foster children in partnership with the local Children's Protective Services
