Description
ASTT helps survivors of torture and trauma recover from the psychological and physical effects of the terror they endured, adjust to life in a new culture, and become healthy, contributing members of their new communities through direct counseling, mental health care, and case management services. Trained psychologists and clinicians provide testimony for political asylum cases and help clients with locating jobs, housing, and other needed social services. Clients have gone on to become teachers and nurses, start their own businesses, participate in church and neighborhood groups, volunteer and work at communty-based organizations.
