The largest, most effective environmental advocacy organization for New York's six-million-acre Adirondack Park, ensuring the Park's ecological integrity and wild character. The Council uses citizen activism, legal action, advocacy, and education outreach advance objectives: Wilderness expansion and protection, private land stewardship, water quality improvement, and air pollution reduction.
