Description
We provide ARTS experiences to pediatric cancer patients. Our son Addison establihed this foundation in 2001 prior to his passing 2 months later; we are still a grass roots charity. I am Addison's proud Mom and also the new President of the foundation. This is a living loving legacy to our son. Addison had been ill for three years with bone cancer and passed at the age of twenty.
It is very difficult to lose a child and then to carry on that child's vision when blinded by grief. It has taken me nearly four years to pick up the baton and move forwrad with our goal...we give musical instruments. music lessons, painting lessons, acting lessons, dance lessons, etc. to young people who have cancer. The ARTS offer a healing balm. Acting, writing, musical theatre offered Addison an outlet and some emotional healing while he was ill.
The acronym stands for: Addison's Day Dreaming Yields Generosity. Addison began this foundation because he saw first hand how powerful the ARTS were.
