ASK stands for Access for Special Kids. We are a "one stop shop" for children and adults with disabilities and their families. We provide a broad range of information, advocacy, support, training and direct services for the benefit of children with disabilities and their families.
Our principal activities include providing information and advocacy on special education and related matters, conflict resolution services, disability-specific information, family leadership and advocacy training, family to family support and mentoring, and health care information and coordination.
We work closely with the federal and Iowa state departments of education and with community partners. We provide specific outreach to minority and non-native English language families. We provide all of this free of charge and state-wide in Iowa.
