Description
Ability 1st, the Center for Independent Living of North Florida, is a private non-profit, community-based organization that provides services and advocacy for persons with disabilities. Ability 1st runs two High School/ High Tech programs that prepare high school students with disabilities to seek higher education in order to become active members of the technology-based workforce upon college graduation. Those students involved with the program are supported in their exploration of various career opportunities in the fields of technology, science, and math. Students have an opportunity to visit area businesses, participate in internships, field trips, and other related activities.
