Description

The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) is a national membership organization which conducts programs in every state and advocates for the political and economic empowerment for more than 56 million children and Americans living with disabilities. AAPD is the nation's largest cross-disability membership organization, with over 135,000 members in every state. AAPD actively promotes public policies that advance the goals of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): equality of opportunity, full participation, independent living, and economic self-sufficiency.

AAPD operates programs in these core areas: 1) mentoring and career exploration; 2) leadership development and capacity building; 3) policy and research; 4) voter registration and get-out-the vote; 5) assistive technology and policy; and 6) member benefits. AAPD conducts all activities in a scrupulously nonpartisan manner. For more information, please visit our website at www.aapd.com.
