It is beyond frustrating to live in a country where so much in-fighting and political rhetoric stirs because people want health care. Truly, it's quite disgusting to be accused of being a free loader because you want affordable options for health insurance or universal healthcare.
While there are certainly those who don't want to pay for anything, understand this--those people will not pay for anything, regardless of what system is in place. Are we so naive to think that doctors truly care who their patients are? Beyond family and friends, it's big business. Just keep the patients rolling in and out. They want you in, out and on your way so they can fill out the paper work and make what they deem as appropriate for their time spent.
It is time to stop the slap fighting and give hard working individuals and families the option at legitimate healthcare.
The Petition
Dear Federal Lawmakers--U.S. Congress and President Obama:
Please come to terms on something in the realm of healthcare. It is so painfully obvious that there are such big lobbyist dollars behind the resistance of healthcare initiatives that it is truly embarrassing for citizens of many states who offered their trust in your representation through a vote. Get over yourself and how much money you can make while you're in office. People are literally dying due to lack of simple care such as check-ups.
The ideology behind the fight against universal healthcare is asinine. Everyone claiming that such systems do not work, please offer some real evidence, or expert opinion aside from a paid Canadian lackey. It seems the vast majority of Canadian and British citizens privileged to enjoy such healthcare are happy to have it.
Stating that all Americans should be able to afford health care is absurd. After all, we are bailing out the financial corruption that has shamed this great nation and put us deeper in debt to other world nations. What it seems that we have lost is the sight of the fact that not everyone will possess great earning power in their lifetime. However, unless you're near the true poverty line, it's almost impossible to gain federal or state assistance on medical bills. So, for the unqualified, and under-financed, what do you suggest?
Our healthcare system is sick--ill. In need of a cure. It is time to reconfigure the system toward preventative medicine and better overall health. Please, for the sake of those who truly care about their health, but can't even afford regular check-ups, offer us a viable option.
Sincerely,
The Undersigned
