CBS has hired Ashton Kutcher to replace Charlie Sheen as the comedic focal point the hit show “Two and a Half Men.” Sheen was fired after years of bad publicity created by his lifestyle of drugs, alcohol, and prostitutes. Ultimately, though, he was fired after a conflict with Chuck Lorre, the show’s producer.
“Two and a Half Men” has had a good run, and it’s time to let the show rest in peace. Without Sheen, this sit-com just won’t have the momentum that it once did. He was the disgusting pig that everyone wanted to watch. What’s left without him? Jon Cryer’s whiney character and his flatulent, dim-witted son?
Who wants to watch that?
Adding Kutcher isn’t going to solve anything. How do the producers and writers plan to explain that leap? Just let this fan favorite go already.
The Petition
CBS and Chuck Lorre,
“Two and a Half Men” has been an awesome show. Thanks to you, the writers, and the actors for making it a success.
Now it’s time for you to let the series die.
No one blames you for firing Charlie Sheen. The guy probably deserved it. It might be funny to watch a drug guy with a penchant for hookers on the screen. That same character in real life, though, is pretty disgusting. I can understand why you’d want to give that guy the boot.
Replacing Sheen with Ashton Kutcher, though, is absurd. Sheen’s character was the comedic focal point of the show. Without him, you have nothing. How exactly do you plan to explain the disappearance of Sheen and the appearance of Kutcher?
Actually, the disappearance part is pretty easy, given the character’s vices. But, still, it’s time to recognize that this great show has reached its end. There is no point in letting it and its fans suffer. Just put the series out of its misery already.
Thanks,
Cory Ribault
