ADD A GOODSEARCH AND GOODSHOP LOGO TO YOUR WEBSITE, BLOG OR PROFILE

Help good causes earn money by linking to GoodSearch and GoodShop on your website, blog or profile! If you'd like to pre-populate the "Who do you GoodSearch for?" box with your favorite organization, please follow these instructions:

Here's the format for a link that will pre-select your nonprofit on our homepage:

For example: http://www.goodsearch.com/?charityid=12345. To find your organization's Charity ID, visit your organization’s profile page and click on the details button under your amount raised. You charity ID will be below your organization’s name on this pop-up.

Use the following instructions to select a banner:

  1. Choose a graphic below.
  2. Highlight the code under the graphic.
  3. Copy the code (usually Ctrl+C).
  4. Open your page with any text editor.
  5. Paste the code into your page (usually Ctrl+V).
  6. Add your charity ID to your link as described above (optional)
  7. Save your page.

  • If the name of the charity is too long to fit into the badge, you can abbreviate the name using the box next to the badge below (note that the charity designated on our homepage is still the one that will receive credit).
  • Copy and paste the HTML below the badge onto your site.
  • This code validates under XHTML 1.0 Transitional, but only if you copy the style sheet portion (the contents of the "style" tag) into the header section.
  • Some CMS and blogging tools may not allow internal style sheets unless they are in the header section or on a separate style sheet.

ADD A FOOTER TO YOUR EMAILS

One of the best ways to promote GoodSearch (and your cause) is to add a message to the bottom of your outgoing e-mails. Here are directions on how to set this up so that it happens automatically.

Yahoo Mail:

  1. Login to your Yahoo! Mail account.
  2. Select Mail Options from navigation bar
  3. Follow the Signature link (under Personalization).
  4. Enter the desired message in the text field. We recommend:

MAKE GOODSEARCH YOUR HOMEPAGE AS WELL AS THE HOMEPAGE ON ALL OF THE COMPUTERS IN YOUR COMPANY OR SCHOOL

This way every time you start your web browser GoodSearch will automatically load and be the first site you see. Plus, no matter where you are on the web, you can always click your browser's home button and return to GoodSearch instantly.

Microsoft Internet Explorer users:

  1. Select Tools | Internet Options.
  2. Select the General tab.
  3. In the Address textbox, type http://www.goodsearch.com.
  4. Click OK.

Netscape Navigator users:

  1. Select Edit |Preferences.
  2. Select the Navigator category on the left side.
  3. In the Location textbox, type http://www.goodsearch.com.
  4. Click OK.

Firefox users:

  1. Open the Firefox options panel.
    (Windows) At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Tools menu, and select Options....
    (Mac) On the menu bar, click on the Firefox menu, and select Preferences....
    (Linux) At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Edit menu, and select Preferences....
  2. If it isn't already selected, click the Main icon. The Main options panel is displayed.
  3. In the Startup box, highlight the text in the Home Page
  4. Replace the text with the GoodSearch URL - http://www.GoodSearch.com/
  5. Click OK

Safari users:

  1. Open a Safari browser window.
  2. In the toolbar at the top of the window, click Safari > Preferences.
  3. In the Preferences window, click the General tab.
  4. In the "Home page" field, type http://www.goodSearch.com
  5. Click the red Close button.

Google Chrome users:

  1. Go to the upper right hand corner of the screen and click on the Tools Icon.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Under the basics tab and under the Home Page section, choose "Open this page"
  4. Add http://www.GoodSearch.com to the URL box and click close.

That's it! Now GoodSearch will be your browser's homepage.
