Are you sick of other people letting their dogs poop on the sidewalk while we, the responsible dog owners, bend over, pick it up, and carry little bags of poo to garbage receptacles?
This petition demands that people living at St. Francis Apartments in Louisville, KY clean up after their dogs. Responsible dog owners and walkers don’t want to step in your dog’s mess. Scraping poop off a shoe is not a very pleasant way to spend a Sunday morning.
This petition is directed at dog owners and the management of St. Francis Apartments. Obviously, people who let their dogs go on the sidewalk aren’t going to change their behavior just because we ask them too. After all, they already know that what they’re doing is inconsiderate. That’s why we need management to introduce a policy that charges stiff fines for those who do not clean up after their dogs.
The Petition
Dear St. Francis Apartments Management and Irresponsible Dog Owners,
We’re tired of cleaning poop off of our shoes. We’re especially tired of it because we take the time to clean up after our own dogs. When our dog goes on the sidewalk or the grassy area in front of the complex, we use little baggies to clean up. We expect everyone else to do the same.
The idea of letting an animal’s poop remain on the sidewalk is basically unthinkable to us. We don’t expect to fully understand how your mind works, nor do we expect that you can appreciate how horrified we are by your laziness and inconsiderate behavior. That’s why we’d like to ask the management of St. Francis Apartments to start fining dog owners that do not clean up after their animals.
We think that a fine of $200 will convince people to act more responsibly.
This will, of course, require some method of enforcement. The money collected through fines should cover the cost of any video cameras or personnel that you might need to enforce the new policy.
This absolutely has to stop. There is no reason for anyone to act so irresponsibly towards their neighbors.
Sincerely,
Responsible Dog Owners of St. Francis Apartments
