Land’s End has built a strong heritage of giving and making a difference in the communities where its employees live and work. Land’s End Community Outreach and Environmental Initiatives include;
- Creating an employee volunteerism program through which employees who volunteer for a non-profit organization are rewarded with a matching donation back to the non-profit organizations of their choice. This allows employees to not only donate their time to causes they are passionate about, but to extend an extra hand through a financial contribution.
- Partnering with the American Red Cross to host onsite blood drives, babysitting classes, swimming lessons, CPR and First Aid classes, as well as workshops for child care providers. In 2006, the Red Cross presented Lands' End with the Corporate Good Samaritan Award for charitable acts, donations, and financial contributions.
- Organizing a company-wide volunteer effort, partnering with Habitat for Humanity to provide a deserving family with a house in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.
- Conducting food drives and collecting gifts for underprivileged families during the holiday season in addition to donating clothing in support of underprivileged families.
- Providing an easy way for employees to donate to the United Way through an automatic payroll deduction in addition to the company's own charitable contribution to the organization.
- Implementing programs to reduce paper consumption, monitor waste management and purchase recycled products.
